Wendelstedt Instructors Promoted. . . Again!
Two Wendelstedt instructors were recently hired as MLB umpire supervisors. Charlie Reliford and Randy Marsh join the ranks with other Wendelstedt instructors Cris Jones, Bruce Froemming, and Rich Rieker and will be part of the group that determines umpires' promotions to the big leagues. We continue to produce the most successful umpires in all of baseball, in part because of our instructors' ability to attain top position in the Major Leagues!
On another terrific note, three Wendelstedt grads were selected as the new crew chiefs for the 2010 season, two of which, Wendelstedt instructors. Congratulations to Jerry Layne, Brian Gorman, and Jeff Kellogg!

New Scholarship Programs Geared Towards Assisting Umpires with Tuition Needs
The Wendelstedt Umpire School is pleased to offer several scholarship opportunities. Both merit and need-based scholarships were introduced for the 2010 class, and a new Military Veterans Scholarship will be offered for the 2011 classes, and beyond. The recent success of Wendelstedt-affiliated military service clinics with both Major League Baseball in San Diego, and in Parris Island, have inspired this new opportunity. As the only one of its kind, this provides our military men and women the prospect of securing positions in professional baseball after their enlistments. . . Continue
