New Scholarship Programs Geared Towards Assisting Umpires with Tuition Needs
The Wendelstedt Umpire School is pleased to offer several scholarship
opportunities. Both merit and need-based scholarships were introduced
for the 2010 class, and a new Military Veterans Scholarship will be
offered for the 2011 classes, and beyond. The recent success of
Wendelstedt-affiliated military service clinics with both Major League
Baseball in San Diego, and in Parris Island, have inspired this new
opportunity. As the only one of its kind, this provides our military men
and women the prospect of securing positions in professional baseball
after their enlistments. |
